Ressources to face the fall 2020

Dear Colleagues,

We have all faced the special spring 2020. I hope you are all well and not completely exhausted by the adaptations we had to face.

The fall will bring new challenges. As most probably social distanciation restrictions will not have completely disappeared by then, “normal” conditions for teaching and learning will not be back. Blended learning might be an interesting answer. We need to start tackling this issue now.

As all universities had to quickly adapt their courses into Emergency Remote Teaching, it is now necessary to offer more appropriate Distance Learning, oriented not only on the teaching side, but also on the process of learning of students.

I want to forward to you two types of information that may be of help:

A study on what universities plan for the fall. It is based on 579 institutions (among which 529 des USA but also  France, Finland, Canada…) and consider issues such as support for students, training for teachers, exams.

And a compilation of training on digital teaching and learning that our colleague Ebba Ossiannillsson has shared with me and agreed to share on eucen eCoP. (ressources for training on e-learning EO).

I hope it helps.

Take good care of you, your family and your students!

Webinar – Quality Distance Learning – Feb 20th

Dear eCoP Digital Learning members,
The Swiss community EDUHUB and its Special Interest Group on Quality Distance Learning is inviting you to an online session :
H5P, a tool enhancing interactive learning, pedagogical intervention and teacher training
Thursday 20th February, from 11:00 to 12:00
Quality of Distance Learning has been tackled through different dimensions. The ENQA working group on e-learning underlined the importance of student-centered learning, student support and teacher training as quality dimensions that are particularly challenging when it refers to e-learning.
A tool like H5P used on Moodle Platform can participate to those three quality dimensions by enhancing interactive learning, pedagogical intervention and teacher competences.
That’s what we want to show during this webinar.
Jade Wang Szilas, Technology-Enhanced Learning Specialist at the Centre for Continuing and Distance Education, University of Geneva, will be our invited speaker.
Thank you for passing this information to potentially interested colleagues.
Looking forward to see you online!
Best regards,

eCoP Digital Learning has started!

A sure interest for this eCoP Digital Learning was shown during the dedicated slot at the Aveiro eucen Conference last week.

Quality assurance of e-learning provision

A working group from ENQA has published : “Considerations for quality assuranCe of e-learning provision”. Based on the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG 2015), each standard is commented according to e-learning provision.

Very useful for Higher Education Institutions to prepare themselves for institutional accreditation or update their quality assurance system.
